Bora and I on Geeks on a Beach

My colleagues and I  recently visited Boracay Island - the Summer Tropical Paradise of the Philippines. And here is my journal of the most unforgettable encounter and awesome Geek on a Beach Conference held in the beautiful island of Boracay.

I was so excited to prepare everything needed for that trip, if there's a word more to described my excitement, may be that's it! Because of my extreme excitement we arrived in the airport as early as 8:00 in the morning well infact our flight was supposed to be on 11am to 12pm.

Few minutes before boarding, I felt like something was giggling within me, knowing that in 30 to 45 minutes I'd be in the place I ever dreamed of. However, while we were in the air already, we encountered a heavy rain and a cabin crew announced that there was zero visibility, thus makes it difficult for the aircraft to land in the island. And guess what? At that moment my extreme excitement slowly diminished transforming into something nerve racking thing (lol) :)  Good thing the flight crew timely calmed all the passengers.

Praise the Lord! We finally landed in the island safely. Upon landing, I noticed that the airport was so neat, I mean, far from the usual airport setting I'd been.  Nevertheless, It's just simply amazing! hehe. :)

It was a long trip then, it almost took an hour of plane ride with minutes of tricycle and ferry boat ride before finally arrived at Crown Regency Boracay. It was tiresome but all worth it, seeing those turquoise clear beaches in the corner just swept the tiredness away. This is it, this is really is it! :)

I was totally captivated and so amazed by Gods creation. My heart fluttered as the sight of the beach took my breath away. hehe - just exaggerating :). Of course, never we forgot to take pictures there and everywhere we go.

That's it, the first day is over yet the fun just started. Hurry!

The second and third day is the most exciting part where we attended the conference called Geeks on the Beach #GOAB. This is actually our main goal why we flew to the island.

I just really loved the idea of this event. They gathered all the tech hound, business owners, investors, web & mobile developers, digital marketers and tech savvy or "nerd" (as they call it) who used to be just in their offices or small rooms working and coding stuff. And now given a chance to show off their faces to relax, unwind, bring out their swimwears and floaters on the beach and go social. lol. Isn't it cool to see those GEEKS behind those big-time known tech company?

But hey, here's the coolest fact I heard from one of the Google seminar recently.
The techno savvy are no longer considered 'NERDS' of the world. - its more than that! They are now the coolest kid that rule the world.  Today the 'GEEK' has risen to rock the world!
Which indeed true!

This trip was something I will never forget.
